Help Callen Beat Childhood Leukemia

The beneficiary of this fundraiser will be Callen Zebley. All donations will be used for expenses related to Callen's cancer treatment, medications and infusions, and anything connected to his recovery from this procedure. Because Lara & Jeff (parents) will be off for extended periods, funds may also be used to provide for the family so they can be present with Callen during his treatment.

Our Story

Sunday, October 30, Lara (Mom) took Callen to the ER, knowing he had Influenza A but felt something else was wrong. She thought he was breathing faster and felt he needed to get checked.

Uniontown Hospital took his blood twice because his platelets, red blood count, and white blood cells were at a dangerously low levels. They decided he needed blood transfusions and transferred us to WVU Children's. Monday, they sedated him and took bone marrow and spinal fluid, which came back yesterday morning with the diagnosis of Leukemia. He has Pre B-Cell ALL, the most common, and has a 95% chance of recovering and living a completely normal life.

As of right now, he will be in the hospital for at least the next 28 days getting Chemotherapy in his spinal fluid to protect that. After this induction period, he will receive treatment over the next 2-2.5 years. He is stubborn like his Daddy but also strong like his Daddy (Jeff), and we have faith that he & his family will get through this. He is in WONDERFUL hands at WVU Children's Hospital right now. He has had a whirlwind of things going on the last few days. He is also missing everyone at home, but hopefully, everything gets better from here!

What are we asking for?

We are grateful for the tremendous support shown to us by our friends, family and loved ones. While nothing can change the fact that Callen has this disease, your prayers and donations have brought us support and comfort, and for that, we are extremely grateful. They say it takes a village to raise a child & we are seeing that now.
