Help Calla with a medical misfortune
Donation protected
Calla is an amazing mother, daughter, sister, and wife, on top of simply being a excellent person to everyone! She's in her late 60s still playing a motherly role for a teenager girl, running her own business "Bus Solutions" in Orlando FL, and giving thought to how long she will continue before she retires.
She had a brain tumor develope that was a serious risk to her eyesight, so she pick the best doctor and facility to handle the surgery with addaquit insurance to cover it. So on February 10th she goes in for surgery.
Unfortunately sometime during the surgery and unaware of by the medical staff, she had a stroke! No one was aware until she woke up and shared with the nurse that she was paralyzed down the entire right side of her body. Her face was drooping, her speech was impeded, and no movement at all on her right side. She has established a little bit of movement in her leg and shoulder, as she's been in rehab since the surgery. But still looks to be her biggest challenge in life! Aside from the stroke, the surgery went as planned.
It's extremely difficult to try and understand how something like this happens to people we love, especially when they are as loving as my mother Calla Acree!
I've set a starting goal for $200k. This was a number that her and I discussed that would help her transition more comfortably while in her current condition. Her house will need remodeling to accommodate her condition, a handicap van with lift gate will be needed to transport her to and from doctors and therapy. The total amount of the goal is not relevant. Any help is greatly appreciated!
