Help Calixte Stay Housed, Heal, and Rebuild After Loss

Hello everyone,

My name is Calixte, and I’m reaching out in one of the hardest seasons of my life. Recently, my brother, best friend, and manager Elvis Brown ascended. Elvis was not only family—he was my closest companion and the one who believed in me and my music more than anyone.

For years, I became Elvis’s full-time caregiver, 24/7, when his health declined. I stepped away from steady work and turned down countless opportunities so I could be by his side. Every bit of savings I had went toward making sure he was cared for, because the healthcare system and insurance simply didn’t provide the urgency or resources he needed.

When Elvis passed suddenly, it left me heartbroken—and also in a very difficult position. I haven’t even had time to fully grieve, because I’ve been in constant survival mode, trying to keep my apartment and my life together. Rent and cost of living here in California are high, and music—which normally pays my bills—has slowed down drastically in this economy.

On top of that, my car was recently totaled in an accident, leaving me without reliable transportation in a city where it’s essential for work and daily living. The loss of stability has been overwhelming.

This fundraiser will help me:

• Cover rent and essentials so I don’t lose my apartment

• Afford therapy and grief support, giving me space to heal

• Replace my car, so I can get back to work and daily life

• Rebuild my music career, which Elvis always wanted me to keep alive

My goal is to raise enough to provide several months of stability, cover therapy, and allow me to replace my car so I can truly begin moving forward again.
