Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for Cali who is my mom’s dog. A week ago she tore her ACL while playing in the backyard as she usually does with my dog Nikko. She did an abrupt turn and let out a yelp and instantly started limping. She’s only 7 years old and already goes to therapy every week for her shoulder which she has had issues with for over a year now. I’m doing this for my mom who doesn’t know about this. But Cali needs surgery and the doctor said she needs to have it by the end of May. The longer we wait the more injury could be caused and the more pain she will be in. The surgery is $7000 and this is my first time doing a go fund me. But seeing my mom so upset and Cali it breaks my heart. Cali is 75 pounds and I have to carry her up and down the stairs just for her to use the bathroom. She usually goes in and out of her doggy door when no one is here and goes by herself but now she lays in one spot all day without moving. My mom has put blankets, thick pads, and so many things around the downstairs to help. And if you know my mom you know she will never ask anyone for help and this is a lot of money in a very little time so anything will help. Trying to take as much stress off of her as I can because she is the most selfless person I know. She doesn’t know I’m doing this and she probably wouldn’t want me to. She also tried to get pet insurance but, since the injury was prior it won’t cover anything but at least she still has it. Cali loves walks, rides, and following everyone around like a shadow and because of her injuries she can’t do any of those things. I never though I would do this but I’ve seen it help so many people and I want Cali to get back to herself. So anything will help, thank you so much!
