Cali Marrero, my 12-year-old daughter, has just been given an incredible opportunity to represent her community and country. She was recently invited to participate in the USA Flag Football Accelerator development program in Las Vegas this April, as well as the USA Select Bowl in California this June. These events are major milestones for young athletes, and being selected is a testament to Cali’s hard work, talent, and dedication to the sport.
However, the costs for travel, hotel, and registration are more than our family can afford right now. We want to give Cali every chance to pursue her dreams, but we need a little help from our community to make it possible. Your support will help cover the expenses needed for her to attend these prestigious events, where she’ll gain valuable experience, meet USA scouts, and take steps toward her ultimate goal: competing in the Olympics. With flag football becoming an Olympic sport in 2028, Cali is aiming to be eligible for the 2032 or 2036 Games. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for her to get noticed and continue her journey.
I want to start by thanking everyone who has ever supported Cali in her Flag Football journey—from family and friends to coaches, teammates, and spectators. Your encouragement has meant the world to her and to us. Flag football is opening new doors for young women, just like it did for her older sister Jenna, who will soon graduate with a degree earned through a flag football scholarship. Cali has always looked up to Jenna and dreams of following in her footsteps, one day playing on the Olympic stage. Please help Cali realize her dreams and experience these opportunities that weren’t always available to young women in sports. Any donation will make a difference and is deeply appreciated.
