“Our brave little girl, Cali, has faced more challenges in her few years than many do in a lifetime. She was born with Pfeiffer syndrome, a rare condition that has required multiple surgeries to help her breathe and grow safely.

Recently, Cali's last surgery couldn't go as planned due to her extremely narrow airway and scar tissue from previous procedures.

This has left her medical team with no choice but to move forward with an unplanned tracheostomy surgery this September. This procedure will give Cali a secure airway so she can breathe safely and prepare for at least 3 more major surgeries in the near future.

While we know this is the best path forward for Cali's health and safety, it comes with significant emotional and financial strain. I will need to take at least two weeks off work to stay by Call's side during her hospital stay and early recovery, and possibly longer until we can secure home nursing support. On top of this, we face:

• Out-of-pocket medical expenses.

• Travel, parking, and hospital costs.

• Meals and childcare for our two boys while we are with Cali.

• Lost wages during my time away from work.
