Hello Everyone,
As embarrassing as it is for us to continue asking for help during this time we have been left with few options over the remainder of this period of uncertainty. We have been retooling and reskilling since COVID-19 began and was put on ‘Stand-By’ from our previous gig at a restaurant in East Lake. Our knives were held by our previous AGM (Assistant General Manager) and have yet to be returned (roughly $600 worth of equipment) that we cannot afford to replace at this time. We have been studying and practicing to find an entry level Front/Back End Visual Design & Web Development position as a Software Developer or UI/UX (Hybrid), and have only held gig work here and there without any consistency.
We have reached out to Seattle Relief, and have been waiting patiently, almost a month now to hear back about our case or receive any assistance. There was over $1000 in unpaid water/gas/sewage left from previous tenants that hurt our pockets considerably due to falling behind with current billing statements, but again haven’t heard anything on a decision for assurance of assistance.
Event Production has been rather difficult as well, am still awaiting payment from a club that essentially ghosted our email chain after having completed the visual promotion curated for the event in discussion, and am beginning to think we will go unpaid for the mere $400 they were charged for an grossly unequal amount of labor implemented, using software that itself cost 4x the amount of money to posses in the first place. We were originally told they normally only have a single person work on their design “team” and had a vacancy but weren’t transparent about someone acquiring the position all the while we worked on the project, (always have a contract). That was our fault.
We have a training / test coming up for stage-hands but am unsure how often we will be able to acquire work tasks to secure our bag for our Therapy & Medication via Cerebral (anxiety, depression, possible ADHD), monthly living expenses (rent, utilities, travel), hygiene product(s), and hopefully eventually pay off our Discover card bills.
We do currently have food stamps, so that’s a plus in the short term. We understand everyone is going through this nightmare rebirth of our perceptive times and many folks also need help, but if you can assist us in anyway it would be greatly appreciated at this time.
Thank you all ~
