Help Caleb Heal and Support His Family

Hello Everyone,

On Sunday, February 23, what seemed to be a normal day at the dirt bike track turned in an unexpected way. Caleb’s bike malfunctioned, locked, and threw him off. The impact was so extreme that in both of his legs the tibias are broken, kneecaps are dislocated and shattered, along with several broken toes. Caleb was taken by medical helicopter from Huntsville to Birmingham where a better equipped team was available for his care.

Caleb was taken in for surgery where two external fixations were placed to allow the swelling to go down before doctors can go back in to begin to repair. Doctors have said that Caleb will be in a wheelchair and unable to bear weight on his legs for eight weeks. Several more surgeries may be needed to fully repair the damage. An estimated six months of recovery time may be needed for Caleb to begin walking on his own unsupported.

Caleb is a devoted father and husband who is the primary source of income for the family and their homestead. These injuries will keep him away from work for an extended period of time and will require an unknown amount of recovery. While Caleb is recovering and the family is adjusting, there are several expenses that will need to be covered. Medical equipment will be needed, uncovered medical bills, travel expenses to and from their home for further reconstructive surgeries, and other costs that may occur during his rehabilitation period.

We serve a God of healing and miracles, who will have the final say in every aspect of this healing journey. Jesus is interceding on behalf of Caleb, Amber, Rilynn, Brayten, and Jaxen and His love will be their hiding place on this journey, During this time any donations are a blessing and will help the family in many ways. If you are unable to donate at this time , please share so this can reach as many people as possible. Prayer is the most powerful gift you can give, so please keep Caleb and the family in your prayers as God begins a mighty work.

UPDATE:
At 7:30AM on Monday, February 24, Caleb was taken back for his first surgery. Doctors placed two external fixations on his legs, and will go back in once the swelling goes down to begin repairs. Despite it all Caleb is in good spirits and has not lost his optimism.
