Before the diagnosis of cancer, our son Caleb Smith was an energetic 10 year old with many talents. He was active on a swimming pre-team and in a soccer league with combined practices 4 nights a week. His passion is to play soccer. In May 2018, Caleb began to get fevers that would not subside. He started to lose weight and the inflammation began to take a toll on Caleb’s body. He was hospitalized for days and after an extensive medical evaluation he was classified with a fever of unknown origin. After being released from the hospital we noticed that the fevers would drop after fasting so we began to focus on nutrition and diet. After removing gluten from his diet the fevers went away and Caleb began to gain weight again. For two months Caleb appeared healthy until he developed swollen Lymph nodes, and a painful mass in his hip area. He was diagnosed with Stage IV Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Over the next 6 months, Caleb will be undergoing strong rounds of chemotherapy.
All donations no matter the size will be deeply appreciated as Caleb and our family fight against cancer. Please keep Caleb in your thoughts and prayers and we’re grateful for all the love and support we have received.
