Support Cajun Through Surgery and Recovery

Donation protected

Hello,

I am Paige and my husband's name is Pedro. We are never ones to ask for help but, our fur baby Cajun needs it. My husband is out of work because he is a student and we are on a one person income. Cajun, is our spunky and energetic 4 year old kitty who us so loveable. He loves to roll over on his back for belly rubs and endless kisses from us. Yesterday 5/18, we brought him to the emergency vet for what looked like difficulty breathing. He ended up having a lot of fluid around his lungs and needed to have it drained. After draining the fluid last night, they found that it was an infection and now need to do chest tubes to fully flush out the infection. This surgery is going to cost us nearly $8,000. We hate asking for money or help but for our fur baby we will do what we need to do. Any amount will help and we also appreciate prayers and thoughts ❤️

**Update** The Dr's had to put the tubes in May 19th. We went to visit him yesterday and he is not the same cat right now but he recognized our voices and looked like he wanted to come home which was heartbreaking. We never realized how hard it was to leave our baby with strangers especially not knowing how he's being treated. They aspirated blood from his tubes yesterday morning and last night they got clear liquid which is a positive. We are hoping to take him home tomorrow if everything is good. We will have to put the funds on a credit card because unfortunately on one income we don't have the ability to put a whole lot into savings.

Cajun sends his love to everyone keeping him in their thoughts and prayers and to those who have donated.♥️

*Update 5/20*

Dr Said Cajun is heading in the right direction but is still producing fluid that is being continuously drained. She cannot confidently say yet if he will fully recover but that she is hopeful. please continue to pray and keep our baby in your thoughts.

*New Update* we went and visited our baby tonight and actually pet him. They said he definitely won't be able to come home tomorrow and they still aren't sure when. They say it could be another 2-3 days. Each day is another $1,000 and it is really putting us in financial strain. We are trying to stay positive with this and say everything will be okay and it will all work out, but it has been a really hard 3 3 days.
