Help Caitlyn's Journey to Speech Pathology
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Caitlyn! My dream as a child was to grow up to be a teacher. So I did! But I was not the best at it. A variety of factors contributed to my contract being non-renewed in 2019 and 2020, but the greatest of these (in my mind), was my undiagnosed/unmanaged ADHD. Now, with a diagnosis, and tools galore to help the "bees in my brain," I want to go back to school. This time, I want to get my Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, so that I can become a speech-language pathologist, and help children find their voice. My ultimate goal would be to work at or start a neurodiverse-affirming clinic, to work with children that have varying differences.
Your donation will go toward the tuition and fees for the start of this educational journey. I plan to take STAT 216 (Introduction to Statistics) this summer (2024) online with the University of Montana, and transition into the leveling program in the fall.
Tuition and fees for the 4-credit Statistics class this summer equate to about $1200 (find fee info https://www.umt.edu/business-services/students/tuition-and-fees/tuition-fees-2024-summer/fy25umonlug.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">here). Because GoFundMe takes a cut of donations, I am asking for $1300 just to make sure the fees are covered.
**thanks to a friend at GFCMSU, I now know STAT 216 *is* offered this summer and now planning to do it here and then transfer the credits. 4 credits at GFC equate to about $717- fee info here. Thank goodness for friends that know things! And a reminder to always double check info after someone tells you something
All donations help! I would be thrilled to go to school with your donation! If you want an update on my grades or all the lovely math I learn this summer, you got it!
Thank you for helping me eventually be able to help others find their voice!
