Help Caitlyn have shoulder surgery!

I never thought i would do this but life has a way of humbling you and we need help.

Almost 2 years ago I injured my shoulder. After 8 months of PT, pain meds and testing we found out I need surgery. Unfortunately, we can't afford for me to miss 40% of my wages for a minimum of 3 months.

The full story:

In May of 2024 I injured my shoulder. How exactly we are unsure. My best guess is a dog pulled really hard and after years of having a physically demanding job with dogs, it tore.

I was off work for 4 months while I tried to rehab it and figure out what was wrong with it. We did xrays and mri's, a cortisol inj in the dr office, ultrasound guided cortisol injection where there was fluid. Nothing helped and the pain continued. We had my neck and head mri'd to make sure the cause wasn't from there.

Unfortunately, by the time my FMLA ran out my shoulder still hurt and we were no closer to an answer. The doctor wanted to do an exploratory surgery but I wasn't comfortable not knowing what was happening or how long recovery would be. For 5 months I went back to work full duty and took my pain meds. Just trying to make it through one day at a time.

Finally, in January of 2025 I got a second opinion which meant a third set of xrays and a fourth MRI but with contrast for the first time. February 17th 2025 I finally got the answer we'd been looking for. Possible labrum tear and complete anterior capsular disruption.

Next came the dreaded sentence " You need surgery"

Unfortunately, surgery requires a minimum of 3 months off work. There is not an option for light duty. I do have short term disability but it will only pay a percentage of what I normally make AFTER 2 weeks time.

So, surgery hasn't happened. I'm in pain everyday. I'm limited in the things I can do. I have instability in my strength and physical abilities. I'm tired. Tired of pain and instability. I'm tired of sleeping on my right side only. At this point I think everyone is tired of hearing about it.

We cannot afford for me to be off work losing about 40% of my paychecks. Until we have the money to replace what I'll be losing, surgery is not an option.
