Help Caitlin Lay Baby Elias to Rest

On September 5, 2024 my daughter Caitlin Nieves was admitted to the hospital due to a ruptured sac..She was 30wks5days..The doctors wanted to continue carrying until 34wks, we stayed up to date on ultrasounds, bloodwork, and monitoring after every meal, and any signs of contractions..On September 10th at 11pm, we did the monitoring and he passed with flying colors and we went to bed..5am September 12th, I awoke to Caitlin saying she was having contractions and I went and got her nurse...She began to put on the 2 belts (one for contractions and one for heartbeat)..She couldn't find Elias's heartbeat..The doctor with ultrasound machine came in and confirmed that Elias Franklin had passed..Of course all of us was and still are heartbroken, angry, confused, empty.. She had gotten a severe infection in the uterine wall..This came out of nowhere..No bloodwork flag, no monitoring flag..The infection was so severe she was septic..They began multiple strong antibiotics and began her labor..At 8:47pm, Elias Franklin was brought into this world sleeping (Caitlin's description)..He was 3lbs 14.1oz and 16.93in..The most perfect baby..His head is full of black curly hair, he has long fingers, long feet as well...And, looked just like his mom..(he has his dad's features to).The most beautiful baby..

Now it was time to save my daughter from this infection..They have ran antibiotics almost ever since..We are still dealing with the infection and we're on September 13th..Her fever did finally break and she's still dealing with infection but the doctors are more hopeful now..

In order for my daughter to put her son to rest she needs $1200..this is for his care, service, and also cremation.. She's tried to figure out how to do it independently but being out of work since August and having to do things newly separated has been overwhelming..
