In 2020, Caitlin experienced her first stroke - referenced as a mini-stroke - leaving her with lasting nerve damage. This was particularly challenging as there have been mounting medical bills, hospital stays, and costly infusions. In April of 2024, Caitlin had a blood clot in her eye, causing vision loss, a frightening experience that underscored the severity of her health issues. Just recently, Caitlin received genetic testing results confirming a diagnosis of DADA2, a rare genetic disorder requiring a completely new treatment plan. This means there will be a transition from Caitlin's current medications to new ones, with the risk of further blood clots during the process.

The road ahead is uncertain and filled with significant medical challenges. Caitlin needs to seek treatment from a specialized stem cell clinic that has experience with vasculitis and other autoimmune disorders.
