Immediately after giving birth to her youngest son, Cate began getting sicker and sicker. She was told that it was simply anxiety until someone put her on beta blockers to try and lower blood pressure. After a week of being on blood pressure meds her pressure bottomed out and her pulse skyrocketed. The pain she had over the course of her postpartum period got worse and she went to the emergency room multiple times trying to get help and an answer and each time they sent her home with different explanations.

On Monday January 18th, she went via ambulance to the hospital when her leg turned purple, lost sensation, and the pain became excruciating. They finally discovered a huge clot that reaches all the way from her leg to her heart as well as a mass that is pushing on her heart. They are hopeful that the mass is simply fatty tissue but the clot is their main priority.

On Thursday January 21st they made the decision to transfer her to Denver hospital as there was nothing more they could do for her locally. The Denver doctors are trying to decide where to start.

Caitlin is currently having to stay a state away from her children and newborn baby and knows that when she gets out of the hospital the bills will be huge. We are hoping to raise a little money to help offset the cost of the bills so that she can heal and take care of herself and her kids.
