Help Cait Get to Work Safely

My name is Derrick, and I'm here to humbly ask you all for any help that you can offer.
Cait Reagan, one of my best friends, recently lost her beloved Scion tC to total engine failure, and was left scrambling to buy a new car. Without any cosigners available, she scraped together every last cent that she could in order to buy herself a used car, just so she could make it to work and keep herself in her apartment.
For the past two weeks, she has been begging for rides, or paying Uber $60+ a day to get to her two jobs, seven days a week. She has gone in early, stayed hours after her shift ended waiting for a friend, and had to swallow every ounce of pride to ask for favors she never has before.
Today, she emptied her bank account, purchased a used Volkswagen, and filled up the gas tank. She followed me onto the highway, and we began to make our way home. Eight miles into the drive, in light traffic and heavy rain, the car coughed up a thick cloud of smoke, and the engine choked, stalling out in the middle lane of I-91 South. She wrenched the wheel, limped it to the side of the road, and panicked as she called me to ask what was going on. A driver stopped next to her, and yelled to get out of the car immediately, and I watched as thick, black smoke poured out from under the hood of her car from 50 yards away.
She ran from the car and I ran towards her, and within four minutes, the car was completely engulfed in flames, fuel pouring out from beneath it, tires exploding from the pressure of being super-heated.
For those of you who don't know her, Cait is one of the most giving, caring, and generous people in the world. In the almost 10 years that we have been friends, she has given me countless rides to work when my own cars died, picked me up in the middle of the night when I needed a friend, and taken strangers to the hospital who were injured. I watched her silently struggle to keep her head above water for five years at her last job, but she always had a smile to offer, a place to stay for those in need, or her last few dollars to offer when a friend fell short.
Unfortunately, her car insurance policy will not be covering a rental car, and she has exhausted her savings and checking in past weeks just trying to get to work. It is my hope that we can raise the money to rent a car until she can find a safe, reliable, sensible car, as soon as possible.
Anything that you can donate to the cause will mean the world to me, and help to ensure that Cait can stay on her own two feet, in her home, and at her jobs.
