Caira is an amazing child, and not just because she is ours. She has always had focus, even from her bassinet. She would stare at you as if reading your soul. She walked early, she talked early, she potty trained early; all things that were slowing down her exploratory spirit. I specifically recall a time when she was about 4 years old and had a visit from her 10-year-old cousin who had recently discovered the hula-hoop. Caira was fascinated! That Saturday, she did nothing but hula-hoop. She had lunch, then hooped, snack, then hooped. By dinner time, she was a pro, able to hula with two hoops!! Whatever Caira puts her mind to, she accomplishes. Caira has been accepted into several special programs on her quest for knowledge and achievement. The first was a STEM program where she promptly decided that she was going to become a Forensic Pathologist like Bones on TV. Next, because of her stellar grades, she was accepted into the National Elementary Honor Society where she donates time and energy to keeping the earth green and helping others that are less fortunate. She was voted onto her school's student-teacher advisory board by her peers where she discussed issues affecting students and how they interact with the faculty. She was on the student guard where she donates time before and after school to help get younger students to where they need to be as well as dances for ADS Service Stars (an organization that donates time to the elderly, retired veterans, and less fortunate). She was accepted into a college-level performing arts program and finally, for the coming school year, she was accepted into a local Performing Arts and Advanced Studies School. She did all of this while maintaining overall honor roll status for the year and attending dance class 6 days a week. Caira became a dancer almost three years ago by accident. She was attending a cheerleading clinic, and the dance director was taken by her and invited her to attend a class at her studio. Caira was hooked and in less than a year had advanced to the top tier performing and competing group at the school. Last year, they performed at Walt Disney World in Florida. This year, they have the opportunity to perform with a theater group in London and to dance at Disney Paris! How amazing is that?!? If you are familiar with the world of competitive dance, you know how extremely expensive it is. The classes, the competitions, the costumes!! It's crazy, but for a child that works this hard, how can we say no? Caira deserves this and we are going to do absolutely everything that we can to send her to Europe so that she can continue her quest for knowledge and experiences and continue to grow as a person, humanitarian, and performer. If you have a moment, please watch the video below. If you feel inspired, give a little something. All proceeds will go toward her trip to Europe, any additional will be shared with the team. Anything will help. Thank you for taking the time out to share in our baby's story. She is going to be a phenomenal woman.
