help cainen not lose their housing while in the hospital!

Donation protected
hi guys! my name is cainen, and i need your help! it feels quite silly and embarrassing to be posting this, especially when everyone is struggling financially in our current economy, but i don't really have any other choice. i find myself in a position where i need to ask for help, because i'm at risk of losing my housing and perhaps my life if i do not.

currently, i am in the hospital for the second time this month due to a severe asthma flare up. at the time of me writing this, i have been here for 4 days, with no real end in sight. the doctor i spoke with earlier today basically said that i can't be released until i am pretty much completely recovered, since the risk of me getting worse as soon as i am released is so high. i anticipate being here for another week, though i have been told it could be up to a month- there's no real way to know.

for those of you who don't know me or aren't familiar with my current situation, a brief rundown:

i moved across the country at the end of 2024 and lost my insurance in the process. while i have insurance now, there was a gap of about 6 months where i did not have access to my preventive asthma medication i have been on for almost 10 years. for this reason, when asthma/allergy season started this year, it absolutely took me out. i have been having progressively worse symptoms for the last month, culminating in me nearly being intubated and put in a medically induced coma a few days ago- to be blunt, if i had been even 30 minutes later in going to the hospital, i could easily be dead right now.

fortunately that didn't happen. unfortunately, i now find myself in the hospital with no release date in sight and no way to make money while i'm here. my rent is paid for this month, but if i'm unable to raise funds for my rent next month, i will likely lose my housing.

i am trying to raise $2,000 to cover my rent for the month of june, as well as utilities and the cost of the medications i will inevitably need when i am eventually discharged. i understand this is a big ask, and i am grateful for you even taking the time to read through this.

thank you so much have a great day, and please, for the love of god, take your asthma symptoms seriously if you have them. it's not fun to have a machine breathing for you.
