I am preparing for a medical missions trip to Guatemala in the Alta Verapaz area. Having previously served in Peru, I have developed a deep love for learning Spanish and for serving others, especially in hands-on ways. I am honored to serve in their communities and can't wait to interact with and love on the Guatemalan people alongside my team.
This upcoming trip is an opportunity to bring hope to the people of Guatemala through medical clinics, preventative health initiatives, kids’ and education programs, and most importantly, by sharing the hope found in our Creator and Lord, Jesus Christ. The funds raised will cover my flights, meals, hotel accommodations, and a checked bag filled with medical and other supplies that I will deliver to the villagers. My specific role will focus on preventative health by installing cooking stoves in homes. In many Guatemalan households, cooking over an open fire is the tradition, but it leads to significant health risks from smoke inhalation and requires large amounts of firewood. These stoves will improve families’ health by reducing smoke inhalation and decrease firewood use.
Romans 15:13 says, 'May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.' Please pray for our team and the Guatemalan people as we continue to point others to the God of Hope. Any support you can give—through prayer or donation—means so much and will help bring hope and health to families in need. Sincerely, Caed.
