Help Cadet Lt Col Michelle Vasquez Attend the U.S. Naval Academy Summer Seminar!
Northeast High School’s Top JROTC Cadet Needs Your Support!
Hello friends, family, patriots, and supporters of our nation’s future leaders —
I’m reaching out with a time-sensitive and extraordinary opportunity to support one of Northeast High School’s brightest and most dedicated Air Force JROTC cadets — Cadet Lt Col Michelle Vasquez — who has just been selected from the waitlist to attend the U.S. Naval Academy Summer Seminar in Annapolis, Maryland!
Michelle will depart in just 10 days, and needs your help covering her last-minute travel and incidental expenses to seize this once-in-a-lifetime leadership opportunity.
Who is Cadet Lt Col Michelle Vasquez?
Michelle isn’t your average high school student.
She’s the Cadet Deputy Commander of the AFJROTC program FL-822 at Northeast High School in Oakland Park, Florida — one of the highest-ranking cadets in the corps.
In May 2025, Michelle was honored to be named Cadet of the Year for Northeast High School and recognized by the Broward County School District at a district-wide ceremony for her unmatched leadership, academic excellence, and community impact.
In April 2025, Michelle was Captain of the Aviation Team at Northeast High School and lead her teams to be recognized as the Top Aviation Program in all of South Florida. This included various competitions with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University drone competitions, American Airlines flight simulator competition and Gulfstream Aviation maintenance challenge. She led the Northeast High School teams to 1st place in all categories.
Michelle dreams of serving her country. She plans to attend the U.S. Naval Academy after graduating in 2026 to become a commissioned officer and pilot. This Naval Academy Summer Seminar is the critical next step toward making that dream a reality.
Why This Seminar Matters
The Naval Academy Summer Seminar is an opportunity for Cadet Vasquez to get to know the staff and leadership at the academy as well as experience midshipman life at one of the most competitive and prestigious military academys and summer leadership programs for up-and-coming seniors in the country. Thousands apply. Few are selected. Fewer still are called up from the waitlist.
Michelle got that call.
Now she needs your help to answer it.
