Hi, my name is Sila Agavale, director of Cacuman.
In March 2020, we set out into the desert to film just three pages under the working title The Intimates. Now, under a second Trump presidency, our dark comedy Cacuman is complete. Set in a world unraveling from a mysterious virus, it explores the search for meaning in an absurd, chaotic world.
Along the way, we pushed every creative boundary—sharpening the writing, performances, choreography, and sound design. Our unique score, built with unconventional instruments, deepens the film’s surreal world. Our actors weren’t just performers—they became camera operators, sound mixers, boom operators, costume designers, prop masters, and location scouts, wearing many hats to bring this vision to life. Now, we’re ready to share Cacuman with the world, but we need your help. We’re launching this GoFundMe to help cover the costs of festival submissions and fund a Digital Cinema Package (DCI)—the preferred format for screening films at festivals. Every contribution brings us one step closer to getting this story in front of an audience who will connect with it, laugh with it, and maybe even see the world a little differently because of it.
