Hi, I’m Jessica better known as Buzz’s mom. Buzz is a 14-year-old rescue who’s been by my side since we found him in the street at 5.5 months old. He's been here for every high, low and in between imaginable. He brings joy to everyone he meets, young and old — but he needs help now.
Recently Buzz lost a tooth and began sneezing blood from his left nostril, our vet suspects Oronasal Fistula, a painful condition that creates an opening between his mouth and nasal cavity, making it difficult and uncomfortable to eat, drink and breathe. On top of that bloodwork showed elevated liver enzymes, and he needs an ultrasound urgently to determine what's going on and how serious it may be. He cannot be anesthetized for the necessary diagnostic x-rays until we get a liver ultrasound.
Estimated costs for his veterinary care:
Liver ultrasound (specialty): $850
Dental/nasal x-rays: $200–$300
Medications, follow-up care, and potential surgery: $400+
Without the ultrasound we can’t safely anesthetize Buzz to find the cause of his bleeding or perform the surgery he likely needs to stop it. He’s been in pain and we want him comfortable and back to greeting everyone he loves.
