I’ve taken my time posting this post. I don’t like to dwell. Or add negativity to anyone’s feed. I learned our house is gone Jason’s parents house is gone.
My brother and sister in law lost their home (with a 2 yo and one on the way in Jan. )
My parents lost their home. My dad wasn’t able to get to the house in time to get their dogs
Our Grandma, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins that lived in the area lost their homes.
I feel dramatic saying the ENTIRE town of paradise is gone. But quite frankly the numbers of loss heavily outnumber those still standing.
This one hurts guys. I don’t go through out the day without at some point crying. However, Ultimately I’m thankful everyone is safe. That’s all that matters.
I never in my life thought that I’d be caught in a fire that I’d run from. We had packed our cars with our most precious possessions. But unfortunately Jason and I had to abandon our vehicles to leave the fire next to us with high speed winds. With our 3 dogs we took off on foot to my in laws. The sounds of exploding propane tanks in the distance will haunt us forever.
Over the last couple days we contemplated that maybe we could’ve stayed in our cars and kept that stuff. But today I learned that the fire was moving at 1.3 football fields per minute. We reacted fast, and I believe we are survivors because of it.
Despite all of this, I’ve seen what our “village” is made of. We are so humbled and overwhelmed by the compassion
I feel very awkward creating a page that asks for money. But I've had many people from out of the area ask us to make an account so they can help. I plan on utilizing any funds given to help us along and anything above and beyond we will use to pay it forward to other community members we see that need help.
We will rebuild this community we’ve called our home.
We will rise from the ashes, together.

I plan to use donated funds to help my family rebuild and replace things that have been lost - including clothes, school supplies, animal supplies & housing supplies.
