Help buy time for real healing

Hi, I'm asking for help for my friend Andrea "Dray" Potts who will be recovering from surgery for the next few months.

Dray is a self-employed artist. They make their income from teaching online classes and commissions. They have been dealing with various health issues for several years which keep them from working a 9-5 job.

In 2019 they had surgery to deal with a cancerous mass. That surgery drained all their finances at a time when they had no job and no home. It also left them with four hernias.

After going back and forth with insurance and doctors, they finally were able to get hernia surgery just before Christmas.

So now they have a long recovery period from the surgery. And between recovery and follow-up visits to the hospital 200 miles away it means teaching is pretty problematic. Leaving them with little income at best.

So, I'm asking for $7,500 to help them get through the next three months. $3,000 because insurance won’t cover various tests and appointments. And $4,500 to cover their housing, utilities, and food.

Without support, it means going back to work before their body is fully ready.

But this money gives them the ability to focus on their health and take the time to really heal.
