Help Buy Sewing Machines, Etc for School in Camden

$5,000 would provide low-income students access to new sewing machines, tools, equipment and materials as well as a scholarships to attend my school, the Fashion Design Center of South Jersey.
The opportunity to open The Fashion Design Center of South Jersey came to me unexpectedly but it has always been a goal of mine to create a makerspace that provides tools, machines, resources, support and education to those who desire to learn to design fashion but have limited access to design education.
Because I have been a stay-at-home mom for the last year with my infant, I am not in the position to purchase a dozen sewing machines (approx. $200 each = $2400), 3 drafting tables (approx. $250 each =$750), 2 adjustable dressforms ($150 each), 2 mannequins ($60 each = $120), storage ($150), tools ($150), and fabric ($100. We can get most of the fabric through donations) to get the school started successfully. The remaining $1200 would be used to advertise and provide scholarships. Learning to sew can be a daunting experience without new machines and tools.
Your donation will help me open the doors of the school ready and prepared to serve students with all that they need to be successful.
