Help Buy Ryeflix a New Server & Drives

Hey there movie fans. I am raising money today to help keep Ryeflix alive and thriving for years and years to come. As you all know, I have been running Ryeflix myself and spending countless hours maintaining it. A lot of that is due to the old and, frankly, unsuitable laptop it has been running on, causing countless crashes and data losses, leading me to have to restore drives or redos load files. Additionally, I have spent my own money to buy an additional hard drive ($250), expanded memory ($150), a USB hub ($30), and top internet speeds (an extra $60 per month) to try and keep Ryeflix performing like it should so you can all enjoy it. However, it seems the time is near that this computer is going to die on us, potentially causing catastrophic data loss. I have discussed the options with the tech savviest among us, and the consensus is that we need a dedicated Ryeflix NAS server. To that end, I am now raising money to buy a NAS ($700), a Windows NUC mini computer ($944), and one 14 TB NAS drive ($339). Currently, Ryeflix has over 34 TB of data. So, one 14 TB drive doesn’t even cover half of that. However, one of our members has been able to secure four 8 TB drives, and can hopefully secure two more, giving us a total of 46 TB of storage. This will cover all of our existing movies and shows and allow Ryeflix to grow a little bit too.
