Hi, I’m Katrina. My husband Bob and I recently learned that the home in which we have been
raising our three children is contaminated with high levels of toxic mold.
Our whole family has been experiencing the impacts of the mold on our physical and mental
health. Our children, who are all elementary school and middle school aged, have had symptoms ranging from skin
issues, nose bleeds, loss of appetite, chronic fatigue and sleep issues, to anxiety and
depression. Several of our health care providers have confirmed that mold can cause or
exacerbate these issues and encouraged us to get the remediation done as soon as possible.
I have had my own blood tested and the test found high levels of mold toxicity, which can cause
or exacerbate several health issues I have been battling for a number of years including chronic
pain, autoimmune disorder, brain inflammation/fog, skin problems and anxiety. This has been extremely taxing on Bob,
as he has had to take over the lion’s share of parenting responsibilities while continuing to be
the breadwinner.
The house has been inspected and tested by a certified mold inspector, who came with good
recommendations from people we trust, and the air samples came back with extremely high levels of
mold. We have already solved the plumbing and structural issues that were causing the excess
moisture in our house. The full amount we are raising will go directly to the remediation (removal
of all contaminated materials in the house), giving us a healthy, mold-free home.
We are blessed to have friends and family to share this burden with us. Thank you in advance
for your prayers and your financial support.
