The Burtonsville Sharks DI team, made up of dedicated 7th and 8th graders, needs your help! In 2017, a group of parents formed this team to participate in Destination Imagination, a worldwide STEM organization that empowers kids to be creative in engineering, art, music, and team building. Over the years, these students have grown together, developing their skills and passion for STEAM. This year, after months of hard work, the team competed in the Maryland State Championships and won first place at the middle level in the technical challenge. Their victory has earned them a spot at the Destination Imagination Global Finals in Kansas City, Missouri—a four-day event where they’ll compete with top teams from around the world. This is an incredible opportunity for these 7 students to showcase their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities on a global stage. The team needs support from family, friends, and the community to cover the costs of registration and travel to make this dream a reality. These kids have been participating in DI since kindergarten and are representing Maryland and their community on the global stage for the third time. Any help you can give will go directly toward helping these hardworking young people continue their journey, grow their skills, and make their community proud.
