Meet Burrito, a 4-year-old German Shepherd/Chow mix with a heart full of love and a story that nearly ended too soon.

After spending countless months in a high-kill Los Angeles shelter, Burrito was finally adopted—only to be returned shortly after a scuffle with another dog. Despite being a gentle, affectionate boy who loved treats, cuddles, and playing with other dogs, Burrito was heartbreakingly placed back on the euthanasia list.

But we couldn’t let that be the end of his story.

We stepped in just in time to save Burrito and are now committed to giving him the fresh start he truly deserves. To ensure his future is bright and stable, we’ve enlisted one of LA’s top dog trainers to assess and work with him on any potential behavioral or reactivity issues. Our goal is to set him up for long-term success in a loving forever home.

Professional training and boarding come at a high cost—running into the thousands of dollars. Every contribution, big or small, goes directly toward Burrito’s rehabilitation, care, and the second chance at life he’s so deserving of.

In addition to training, Burrito is in urgent need of veterinary care. After months of stress and poor shelter conditions, he’s developed severe hotspots around his neck and painful ear infections that require immediate treatment. These issues are not only uncomfortable for him—they’re impacting his ability to focus and thrive in training.
