Help Burlington High School Bass Team

Hi,

My name is Christy Lorrain. My son Nathan Lorrain and his teammate Mason Sweetser won the Twin State - TBF National Qualifier for Burlington High School in October 2021. This tournament qualified them to go to The Annual High School Fishing World Finals and National Championship in Florence, Alabama in June. This is an incredible experience for two high school boys who have a great love for fishing. They have worked very hard to not only get a fishing team started at Burlington High School but to come so far in just a short amount of time. This is a dream come true for them and they are very excited to represent Vermont in a National Tournament. The only way they can get there is to raise the money themselves. Please consider helping these two boys fulfill their dream. Anything will help and will be greatly appreciated. They would like to share a little about themselves.

Our names are Nathan Lorrain and Mason Sweetser, and we are Burlington High School student-athletes. We recently won the Twin State Bass Fishing Tournament on 10/17/2021 and qualified for Nationals that will take place in June 2022 on Lake Pickwick in Florence, Alabama. Here is some history about ourselves and our program:

I, Nathan Lorrain, proposed a Bass Fishing program to our school’s athletic department in the summer of 2020. I went through all the procedures to get it up and running in one month so we were able to fish for the 2020 season. We have now been a varsity sports team for two seasons and have already qualified for Nationals after winning the 2nd Annual Twin State Tournament in 2021 with a total of 19.32 pounds caught.

Mason Sweetser and I have been fishing since we were young. This team brought us together as teammates and closer friends. Now we are competing together for championships in Vermont Principals’ Association tournaments. We have put a lot of time and effort into qualifying for Nationals, and we did it! This means so much to us, and if you could help get us to Nationals by making a donation that would be greatly appreciated!

Our fundraising goal for the trip is $8,000 to cover equipment, licenses, fees, fuel, lodging and food. Any additional proceeds would go directly to the BHS Bass Fishing program as we hope to sustain our program by covering the costs of future tournaments, coaches, and equipment that would help us and the next generation of fishermen and fisherwomen at BHS. We are really hoping to meet our goal, and any amount you could help with is appreciated.
