If you have been a client of Virginia Auto Service during the past 11 years or been in the auto repair business in Phoenix you're bound to have met Burgie!
After serving in the Air Force during Vietnam as a weapons mechanic repairing B52's, F4,s and F15's, Burgie came to Phoenix where he worked as a mechanic at a few Service Stations. Prior to coming to Virginia Auto Service 11 years ago he worked at the Exxon formerly located at 7th St and Glendale for 14 years.
Burgie is a loyal friend to all and is always the first one to help those in need. It is not uncommon for Burgie to offer the most when he has the least!
At Virginia Auto, Burgie is the guy who gets you to work on time or back home and picks you up when your car is finished. He is our "Good will Ambassador"
Medical problems as a result of diabetes left Burgie hospitalized for an extended period. Complications of those issues have resulted in partial amputations of a foot.
Living alone, in a wheel chair and not being able to work Burgie has depleted his savings and the minimal Social Security he receives does not cover his basic living necessities let alone future expenses.
Burgie, with great optimism, is looking forward to coming back to work someday, if possible. He misses the friends (customers) he has made over the years and his conversations with them.
Thank you for your generosity and prayers.
