Hi, my name is Tera and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart.

Earlier this year, my sweet dog Bunny had a terrifying medical emergency when a massive stick—over 6 inches long—got lodged deep in her throat near her spine. After an emotional and uncertain journey involving multiple vets, specialists, and sleepless nights, we were miraculously able to avoid surgery and have the stick removed.

I was beyond grateful… but now, months later, we're facing a heartbreaking setback.

A mass started to form in the same area, which we believed was scar tissue. Sadly, it’s now been confirmed as a growing abscess, likely caused by a leftover sliver from the original injury. The vet is recommending a CT scan and a highly delicate surgery that comes with a lot of risk due to the location. They’ve warned it’s serious and also needs to happen soon.

I’ve applied for CareCredit, but the estimated cost far exceeds what I was approved for and I’m already financially maxed out from her last emergency. All of this is sooo hard to digest. Bunny is not just a pet—she’s my adventure companion, as well as my emotional support animal and my heart.

The current goal is $2,000+, but this will likely change depending on what the CT reveals, which is scheduled early Friday August 8, 2025, followed by the procedure. Update: They quoted me at $3384.75 -$4060.02 for scan and surgery.
