Hello my name is Bianca and I am Bunny's mom. I spend a lot of my free time volunteering for a local animal rescue in Washington, DC.
Bunny was rescued in summer 2019 and she is currently about 2.25 years old. She came to us as a foster and we immediately knew that Bunny was a special cat and we could never let her go. She has been our one and only foster fail. Since adopting Bunny, she has helped foster, raise, socialize, groom, and play with over 100 cats while they waited for their forever homes. Bunny is gentle, sweet, and loving with any animal she meets.
Unfortunately, on September 13, 2021 she was diagnosed with FIP. Initially, her FIP was the dry kind, but a sonogram shows that she also has the wet kind. FIP used to be a death sentence. But, there is an experimental treatment available.
On September 15, Bunny was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and pedicardial effusion.
To be able to give Bunny a fighting chance at life, we need to treat her with remarkably high doses of the medication.
We are ready to fight. But, the treatment and diagnostics are incredibly expensive. Treatment for FIP alone has a low estimate of $3,000. We expect total costs to be upwards of $6,000.
Bunny deserves to live. She has given so much to so many kittens and has helped save so many lives. We want to be able to give her the long life she deserves.
