Hi, I’m Buko Pan Guerra—musician, artist, and designer based in Los Angeles. In 2024, I made a lifelong dream come true by purchasing a 5-acre fixer-upper ranch in the high desert of Leona Valley, CA, north of LA, near Palmdale/Lancaster. For the past 2.5 decades, I’ve helped build various facilities for medical, education, aerospace, and entertainment companies, creating experiences and building communities. I’m thrilled to create one at my home.

THE VISION

I grew up in the farmlands of Chesapeake, Virginia, on an acre of land where we grew our own vegetables. That early connection to the land—and an obsession with Earthships and homesteading—has inspired my dream to live sustainably, grow food, care for animals, and create space for community events centered around nature, music, and wellness.

Now, I’m building Golden Mirage Ranch, a place for:

THE CHALLENGE

Since 2022, I’ve also been caring for my mom as she fights ovarian cancer. I need to be local to care for her. I try to give her a peaceful, healing, and happy life in her recovery. She’s a master gardener and will help bring this dream to life. But making my dream of Golden Mirage Ranch into a homestead is no small task.

The land is raw and the property needs serious work:

To make matters more intense, I’m currently between jobs, and the costs are rising. Originally, this was going to be a 5-year plan. But now I feel called to go all in—to step away from corporate life and build this ranch full-time.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Your donation will go directly toward the materials, labor, and infrastructure needed to start the homestead:

Phase One $16k - Secure the animals from predators:

(2) 10 x 12 Animal Barn, (1) Goat Tower, (2) Animal Pens - $6k

1000 lf Perimeter Fencing $10k

Phase Two $20k - Infrastructure for all year farming in the High Desert:

(5) 10 x 12 Greenhouses with (5) Covered garden patios $15k

(1) Water Filter systems and piping upgrade (water from well contains high levels of TDS, Calcium, Magnesium, and Lead. Only a RO system at kitchen sink for drinking water) $5k

Overall needs $50k:

Upgrade barn with toilet and needed repairs to clear 3 building code violations $20k

Survey, machinery, grading, and materials to make the land usable $30k

TOTAL $86k.
