Help Build YURA’s First Community Learning Circle
Knowledge stays alive when people have time to teach, learn and practise together.
My name is Ariê, and I’m developing this initiative through YURA. Our purpose is to connect communities, educators, artists and people across borders through cultural learning and collaboration.
We are inviting you to help develop YURA Living Knowledge Circles, beginning with a community-led learning programme and an international community of people who want to help it continue.
What we want to make possible
Imagine a learning circle where educators are paid for their preparation and teaching, participants have practical support to attend regularly, and the community chooses what it wants to learn and share.
Music, language or an artistic practice could become the focus. The community partner would decide the priority, select the educators and define the boundaries around its knowledge.
YURA would help organise the resources, coordination and communication needed to sustain the work.
What this first fundraiser supports
This campaign is for the development phase. The community partner, participants and teaching programme are not yet confirmed.
Your contribution would support the paid work needed to develop a useful, realistic programme with a willing partner, including:
- Time for local educators and collaborators to help shape the programme.
- Translation and planning conversations where needed.
- A practical teaching schedule and a budget based on real costs.
- Clear agreements about responsibilities, payments and cultural permissions.
- YURA’s coordination of this phase, together with necessary administrative and payment costs.
YURA’s paid work will be identified in the budget and financial updates.
The intended result is a complete programme plan that the partner wants to carry forward, with a clear explanation of what it will cost to deliver.
A local beginning with an international community
Alongside local learning, we want to create ways for people across borders to contribute useful skills and support.
That might mean helping with translation, organisation or an activity the partner chooses to share. Participation and cultural access will follow the partner’s decisions. A donation does not purchase access to knowledge or ceremonies.
Over time, successful circles could support a wider network of communities working together on their own terms.
How we will account for your support
We will share progress updates, explain how funds are used and report the outcome of the development phase.
Funding this work does not guarantee that a teaching programme will proceed. If the planning shows that a useful programme cannot be delivered, we will explain the findings and account for the work completed.
Before seeking funding for delivery, we will present the agreed programme, its costs and the people responsible for it.
Help us take the first step
Your contribution can help turn this idea into a programme shaped by the people it is intended to serve.
If this purpose matters to you, please consider contributing or sharing the campaign with someone who may want to help.
Thank you for helping YURA build the conditions for learning and collaboration to continue.
