Hi all!! WE FOUND A HOME for our "LITTLE MUSEUM making BIG DISCOVERIES", we have our 501c3 SET, and it is TIME TO GO BIG!!!!!
IT WAS ANOTHER FANTASTIC SUMMER, the museum was another RECORD BREAKING success!! We entertained hundreds families, kids and adults alike from all over the World this summer AND gained an army of new museum patrons and followers.
Eagle County Colorado's FIRST DINOSAUR MUSEUM, The Museum at Dinosaur Junction continues to grow with help from people like you! In addition, donations have allowed more and more discoveries of not only dinosaurs but other prehistoric life dating back to over 200 million years old right here in our town; sharks, crocodiles, last summer a 150 million year old Jurassic turtle, LAST Fall bones and teeth from a giant sauropod long neck dinosaur, and aTHIS Fall a new bone layer contains bones from we don't know yet haha!! To date, our museum has been housed in large, canvas, hot, military tents making it difficult to secure things and putting extreme limitations on our being open. As of now, we can only be open June 1-Oct 1 due to cold weather and Winter conditions.
OUR 501C3 Non-Profit STATUS FOR THE MUSEUM IS FINISHED and we are OFFICIAL!! Both Federal & State compliances are set and we are ready for any and all donations!!! We continue our journey of improving the quality of adventure and learning in our town for a long-lasting educational and fun experience for all who visit or live here in Eagle County.
THANK YOU to the Eagle County School Board here in Eagle County, Colorado, as we have found our BRICK N MORTAR HOME!! An actual building where our museum will live and also allow us exhibit museum-quality dinosaur skeletons, educational tools, student programs, and more to represent the various animals whose ancient remains have been found in our area.
PLEASE HELP US REACH OUR GOAL! Schools, kids, families, locals, guests will soon be able take trips through Colorado's prehistoric past and see amazing dinosaur fossils, and more from our ancient inhabitants here in our community of Eagle County, Colorado!!
YOUR DONATIONS will allow us to purchase life size dinosaur skeletons and other exhibit material, as well as help us pay insurances, a handful of employees, and other necessary costs. To date, donations have allowed the museum to grow in an incredibly positive direction and it has been a wonderful journey! In 2021, through the museum, the kid's camp, and public shows, we have taught hundreds and hundreds of kids, adults, families, and visitors all about the prehistoric Colorado and dinosaurs who inhabited this area. In a scientific capacity, your support has allowed Fossil Posse to continue to explore and discover new and exciting fossil treasures to add to the world of science and Paleontology, in fact we will be published for the first time alongside World renowned dinosaur footprint expert, Dr. Martin Lockley, in a paleontological paper on incredible footprints here in Eagle County, Colorado! Last summer we found more than a dozen new footprints; Allosaurs, Sauropods, Ornithopods, and more- some over 3 feet wide, were found in our area alone!! Working with local schools, resorts, businesses, and families, has given our museum the platform to connect with kids and adults, locals, and guests to our community who are ravenous about dinosaurs and science as a whole.
