I’m a college literature professor, which is not the usual background for a shower hardware inventor. But I kept getting annoyed by the same things: always forgetting to buy more shampoo or body wash, collecting half-empty bottles in the shower, and realizing how much plastic and product we waste every year just to get clean. That frustration turned into sketches, late-night research, and eventually a real concept: LatherLogic Eco Shower. It’s a smart shower dispenser that hangs from the shower head, replaces loose bottles with compact recycled-plastic pouches, and gives you a precise, consistent amount of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash every time. Instead of “guess and squeeze” from bulky bottles, LatherLogic doses just what you need and drastically cuts plastic and clutter. What makes it unique is that it goes beyond token gestures like paper straws. It’s a system-level change in how we deliver shower products in homes, hotels, and gyms. The idea has now been shortlisted as a finalist for the 2026 Green Concept Award, an international eco-design competition supported by IKEA Stiftung. I’d like to turn that recognition into something tangible: a working prototype that proves this can actually work in a real shower.
The goal of this fundraiser is simple: to pay for one working prototype of the LatherLogic Eco Shower. I already have the patent filing and detailed CAD designs; what’s missing is a real unit that can hang in a shower, pump the gels, and prove the system works outside of a computer. The funds will go toward engineering time for my hardware designer to build and wire a functional prototype (pumps, valves, electronics, control interface), materials and components (pumps, tubing, sensors, a basic enclosure, mounting hardware, and sample pouches made from recycled-plastic film), and assembly and basic testing to make sure it actually dispenses reliably in a real shower environment and can be safely demonstrated to potential partners. None of this money will go to my salary, advertising, or “invention marketing” services. It’s strictly for parts and professional engineering work to turn LatherLogic from a concept on paper into a real, working device that I can show to manufacturers, sustainability partners, and potential funders.
If you believe in practical, system-level solutions to plastic waste, I’d be grateful for your support. Every contribution helps bring LatherLogic Eco Shower closer to reality and proves that even small changes in our daily routines can make a big difference.
If this campaign exceeds its initial target, any additional funds will be reserved for legal costs to convert my provisional patent into a full non-provisional patent application.
