Hello! We are Rob and Yana Kippel. We are husband and wife, and both ordained interfaith ministers living a life of creation and service. For the past 3 years we have been living in the jungle outside of Tulum, Mexico, developing the land we call home into a transformational spiritual retreat center and community center known as Gyan Khand. We love supporting other's dreams and are grateful for the opportunity to open up our dreams to others for support

In the past 3 years we have gone from living in a tent on the land for 7 months, to building 4 phenomenal bamboo structures, hosting private retreats, holding community events, gatherings, and prayer circles, and now we are really going for it! This land is asking for a large community gathering and event space so that we can do even more here. But not just any space......

We have designed and started building a massive bamboo tower (15m/49 ft tall) which will have a large open space among the jungle tree canopy, capable of hosting 50 people, and with an absolutely jaw-dropping translucent bamboo roof structure over it! Its name is Illuminara, and its purpose it to bring more light of the Creator into this world. We started construction a few months ago knowing that we didn't have the money to complete it but with the full faith that as the vision grew stronger and momentum increased, the universe sends its support. We have spent all the money available to us to start the momentum on this project and now we need help to keep it going.

We are opening ourselves to receive the financial support needed to make this structure all that it is envisioned to be. Rob truly has a gift for designing and working with bamboo, and with the magic that happens when he co-creates with his wife Yana, this is sure to be a one-of-a-kind, internationally recognized structure.

We gratefully receive your financial and other forms of support and use it with great stewardship and responsibility. We have quoted and estimated some of our larger material costs and we know it will cost a minimum of $20,000 USD (340,000 $mxn pesos). In addition we are building a temazcal next to the tower and recently had a battery in our solar power system explode and took down our whole battery bank. There are sure to be more associated costs as we build so we are raising $30,000 USD (510,000 $mxn pesos + transaction costs). There is no donation that is too small and every donation helps.
