Hi, I’m Mike Carvalho, a Holliston resident and the 2025 President of the Blackstone Valley Chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA). Our chapter has been working with Holliston Parks and Recreation to bring a long-time dream to life: the Holliston Bike Park.
For years, residents, parents, and riders have shared the same vision: creating a safe, accessible, and fun place to ride right here in Holliston. After many community meetings, town discussions, and site visits, we’ve identified the perfect location: a town-owned parcel near the elementary and middle schools, beside the Upper Charles Rail Trail at 260 Woodland St. It’s an ideal spot for kids, families, and riders of all ages to learn, play, and connect directly to our regional trail network.
Where We Are Now
With support from Holliston’s Community Preservation Committee (CPC), we partnered with Avid Trails, a nationally recognized design and build firm, to complete the full design and engineering plan. The proposed park includes a pump track, skills loop, and jump line, all designed to blend naturally into the landscape.
Construction is estimated to cost $683,000. We’re seeking $650,000 from CPC, with the remaining funds to come from community crowdfunding and other sources like grants.
Our Goal
This GoFundMe aims to raise $25,000 to support the final push toward construction. These funds will help with early site work, materials, and community-matched contributions that show strong local support. Funds raised above and beyond our target will support future maintenance and programming to build on the park’s success within the community.
Why It Matters
The Holliston Bike Park will be more than a place to ride. It will be a gathering space where kids gain confidence, families spend time outdoors, and riders of all abilities can grow their skills in a safe and social setting. It will strengthen Holliston’s trail and recreation network and add a lasting community asset for generations to come.
