Help Charlottesville High School Theatre Build Its Future: One Story at a Time

TheatreCHS is where students find their people: where a shy freshman becomes a confident performer, where a kid who loves building things discovers set design, where friendships and futures take root. For many, this program is the springboard toward a career in the arts.

TheatreCHS is more than a program, it's a home. Our actors, musicians, engineers, and tech crew of every background come together here, led by theatre teacher David Becker and supported by a network of community pit directors, accompanists, choreographers, architects and builders, and photographers, to build something no one student could create alone.

This year, we're taking that spirit further. Our students are designing and building a rotating stage a hands-on engineering-and-theatre capstone project that will transform how we tell stories for years to come. We're also launching Show Makers, a series of student-directed productions brought straight to our community, alongside five full productions, including our spring main stage triumph, Ragtime.

Last year, your support gave every student a voice, literally. New wireless microphones meant no performer went unheard.

theatreCHS Boosters is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.Every dollar you give goes directly toward building the rotating stage, producing student-led work, and making sure every student, on stage, backstage, or in the pit, has what they need to shine.

Help us reach $15,000. Every gift raises the curtain a little higher.
