Tafari Makonnen School (TMS) is Back - Let’s build its Future Together!

The Tafari Makonnen Alumni Association (TMSAA) https://tmsaa.net, a 501(c)(3) US non-profit charity organization, established in Washington DC by the global TMS alumni, is raising funds to help TMS that celebrated its Centennial on 27 April 2025.

For 100 years, Tafari Makonnen School (TMS), established by Regent Ras Tafari Makonnen (later Emperor Haile Selassie), has been more than a place of learning - it served as a home, a beacon of hope, and a foundation for dreams of generations of Ethiopians.

Amidst every challenge and triumph, its name has come to embody pride, resilience, and the transformative power of education.

After years of unwavering effort, the Tafari Makonnen name was restored, honoring the legacy of those who paved the way and embracing the promise held by future generations.

To commemorate this momentous milestone, TMSAA will construct a four-story Multi-Purpose building that will serve as a vibrant hub for current students and will stand as a lasting tribute to TMS's legacy. It will inspire future generations of alumni to excel in their chosen fields, just as TMS alumni have excelled in the past. It will be a central gathering place for students, alumni, and the broader community.
