Help us build StarRise Studios for movement music!

Peace, relatives,

We are excited to announce that we have completed construction on the studio!! Stay tuned for more updates coming soon! Thank you so much to everyone who has helped us get this far! Now that the foundation is finally in place, we need your support in bringing it fully to life!

How You Can Help Now: Even though the construction phase is finally complete, we are still in urgent need of funds to purchase essential studio equipment—microphones, monitors, interfaces, instruments, and production tools that make the space functional and professional. Without this equipment, the studio can’t fully serve the artists and community it was built for.

If you’re able, a contribution of any amount truly helps! Sharing this fundraiser with others who believe in the power of art and community also makes a big difference.

In case you are new to this project, here is the background:

Adam Gottlieb and Liam McDonald are two artists partnering together to build a community-centered music and media studio rooted in the belief that music with vision can heal, uplift, and create real change. The goal is to support not just our own work, but a wider circle of socially engaged artists—musicians, poets, and creators—who are making art that speaks to justice, resilience, and community.

We are now starting a new chapter in our individual and shared musical journeys: building a studio that can serve not only our own needs, but also a core artist collective and a broader network of socially engaged recording artists. We plan to build and run this studio here on the basement floor of Adam and Diana's home, immensely elevating our capacity to produce music and other content that we believe the revolution urgently needs: art with clear messages, sharp analysis of the real world, compelling storytelling, rooted spiritual power, and contagious, danceable rhythms.

We are putting the pieces in place to run a studio using a business model that keeps our prices affordable and our services accessible to folks who are doing community-based cultural work. This is a way to amplify artists whose voices need to be heard and to build community as we grow, out of which even greater projects and collaborations can and will emerge. We are guided by our mission to support the ongoing struggles for Indigenous survival and sovereignty, and to contribute to the revolutionary transformation of society toward freedom, justice, and abundance for all. With this great vision in mind, we have named the venture StarRise Studios.

StarRise Studios will provide space and resources for artists who are using their creative work to communicate visions of social justice, build resilient communities, heal collective trauma, and transform the world in the direction of sustainable abundance, justice, and peace for all. We aim to empower such socially engaged artists to hone their work and to produce and distribute art at an ever-higher quality and quantity. Your contribution helps make possible this vision of a thriving studio enlivened by a core artistic collective that is regularly recording and producing high-quality music and other works (across many genres and forms) in ways that serve and strengthen individuals and communities working for social transformation.

Thank you relatives for making this vision into reality with us!!!
