Help Build Saint Lucia’s First National Museum
Saint Lucia is a nation rich in history, culture, and resilience. Yet, despite our incredible legacy — from the struggles of our ancestors to the brilliance of our artists and thinkers — we do not have a National Museum. Our story has been left scattered in small displays, private collections, and fading memories.
Now, we have the chance to change that.
We are working to transform the historic ruins of the old military barracks in Tapion into Saint Lucia’s first ever National Museum — a place of free education, culture, and pride. A space where our children can learn their history with dignity, where visitors can engage with the depth of our heritage, and where future generations can feel the power of their identity.
This is not just about bricks and mortar. It’s about reclaiming our story. It’s about creating a home for our heroes, our art, our Carnival, our struggles and triumphs. It’s about Saint Lucians mapping their own future, standing tall with a museum that reflects who we are.
But we cannot do this without you.
Many ask - WHERE WILL THE FUNDS GO?
The funds from this donation drive are managed by the Sir John Compton Memorial Foundation. A charity organization in memory of Saint Lucia's longest running Prime Minister, and champion for education.
This foundation has raised over $1.25 million E.C. to pay for thousands of children's school and exam fees, arrange cultural exchanges and fund courses and learning programs for Saint Lucian children, since its conception in 2010. These funds will be transferred to a National museum fund.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps bring us closer to building a landmark that belongs to all of us. By contributing, you’re not just giving to a project — you’re helping to build a legacy, one that says: our history matters, our culture matters, we matter.
Join us in making history.
