Help Build Patrick Turney’s Legacy Bench

Patrick (Pat) Turney was just 23 Year’s old and on September 11, 2019 his life ended way to soon. His loss was tragic and he is missed everyday by many. Pat was a typical 23 year old who loved cheering on his favorite team Norte Dame and listening to his favorite band Drop Kick Murphy’s. Pat was so friendly, and outgoing he became known as “The Mayor of Mt. Greenwood”. He humbly gave fully of himself to others and always left you feeling his warmth. His dimpled smile was contagious leaving you wanting more and feeling his generous heart. Pat enjoyed spending time with his siblings and shared a special bond that was like no other with his twin Jimmy aka “The Twin”. Helping others was second nature to Patrick. Whether helping his grandfather, poppy, in the garage, a friend, family, or new employee at Jewel he went out of his way to help others.

Patrick’s passion for reading made him wise beyond his years, often leading to long discussions with his mom during their walks at Lake Katherine which started early in his childhood. The many years of walking lead to his love for the outdoors. Whether it was watching animals or collecting pine cones he loved exploring nature. Pat suffered from mental health difficulties, but God takes all good hearts into His arms. Pat is in a place of no more pain or suffering as God works with him to perfection. We would like to ensure Pat’s legacy will always be present at Lake Katherine, in Palos Heights, Illinois by dedicating a new bench in Pat’s honor to serve as a reminder to be friendly and always share a smile as Pat did.
