Help Build Olivia's Memorial Garden
Donation protected
In late December, we lost our baby to cancer. After a heart wrenching 8-month battle, she passed at home in the arms of her family. That day will forever be etched in our hearts.
Olivia was nothing short of astounding. Her kindness, generosity, curiosity, intelligence, and aptitude set her apart from the world. Whether it was baking with mom, building something for the farm with dad, flipping in gymnastics with sister, or building dirt castles on her own, she was always involved and genuinely cared to learn and help. We never did anything alone.
By far, Olivia's favorite thing was her garden. We had 8 raised beds and grew all her favorites: okra, tomatoes, dragon tongue beans, marigolds, borage, cucumbers, and more. She was always out there checking the backs of leaves for worms, picking the heads off flowers and eating them, and spotting ripe cucumbers nobody else could see. It truly was her happy place. We would often sit in the garden sipping coffee and talk about the grand plans we'd eventually get to one day.
There's nothing that would honor Olivia more than to build the garden we've been talking about since she was 1. This fundraiser is going directly to the costs to build her 10,000 sqft (929 m²) garden, with all of her favorite vegetables, flowers, fruits, trees, and experiments. Complete with a firepit, butterfly garden, aquaponics, 50+ beds, winding trails, a beehive, orchard, rainbow uplights, smart irrigation, and a memorial stone, this garden will be everything Olivia ever dreamed of. She will be smiling down from heaven every day, helping our plants grow to sustain not only the family, but also the community.
Her generosity lives on as we'll help provide fresh fruits and vegetables to the city of McKinney whenever we can. She always put others first, and we'll continue to do so with her memorial garden. While we're dedicating the project to Olivia, it's directly going to help provide for our community.
You can learn a little bit more about Olivia's cancer journey, follow along with the progress of the garden and what we're doing in honor of Olivia, or donate a plant to the garden.
Thank you for helping us celebrate our amazing, wonderful girl
