Why We're Raising Funds

Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in Canada—and nowhere is that more true than right here in Port Alberni! As our community grows, so does the demand for accessible, inclusive, and safe recreational spaces.

The Port Alberni Pickleball Association (PA Picklers) are raising $150,000 to help build dedicated pickleball courts that will serve all ages and skill levels—from beginners and families to competitive players and active seniors.

Currently, the few shared-use courts we have are overcrowded, often unavailable, and not built for pickleball, leading to limited play time, shortened seasons, and increased wear and tear.

It's time for a permanent solution.

• Construction of 6-8 dedicated outdoor pickleball courts

• Fencing, surfacing, nets, and lighting for year-round play

• Accessibility features to welcome players of all abilities
