I am Chris Johnson, a pastor of a local church in Orangeburg, SC, but this is not about me; this is about my daughter Naomi. Many of you may know Naomi, while some may not. When she was 3 years old, Naomi suffered a non-fatal drowning and has been in a process of recovery for the last 15 years. It’s amazing to me that she is nearly 18 years old now! Naomi is a rising senior and through the grace and mercy of God, she has an opportunity to attend a Life Program at Clemson University in the upstate. Naomi is still working through some fine motor challenges that affect her walking, and THAT, my friends, is why I am starting a fundraiser for her. At Clemson Life, she will need to navigate the campus and will need a motorized wheelchair. The therapists suggested by her doctors at MUSC came out and suggested a foldable version called a “Quickie QR50 Carbon” chair. This chair will cost her $2995.00 and we need help to provide this for her. If you know me, you know it’s hard for me to ask for help, but I won’t hesitate if it involves Naomi, because we believe her story is not finished, and the work she has left to do will need her to be all she can be. So, please help Naomi. I assure you, you will be doing more than just helping a teenager get a wheelchair. You will be helping her build something in her testimony that is bigger than a small-town girl living in a small-town world (to loosely quote the great rock band Journey). Thank you, and may God richly bless you!
