Help Build Max’s House of Hope

My name is Harvey, and I am the founder of Max’s House of Hope.

I met Max while working at a wildlife rehabilitation centre in Bolivia. He was a jungle dog from a nearby community who no longer cared for him— full of love, often misunderstood, and without a safe place to belong.
During my own struggles with addiction, Max became my one constant. When I pushed people away, he stayed. When I felt ashamed, he stood beside me proud. Max didn’t save me by fixing anything — he saved me by staying.

Max’s House of Hope was created for dogs like him.

Based in Rurrenabaque, Bolivia, it is a small, independent dog rescue and rehoming project built on patience, compassion, and long-term outcomes. Only a few dogs are taken in at a time so each one receives individual care, food, basic medical support, gentle socialisation, and the time they need to heal and become ready for a home.

Funds raised will help build a simple shelter and cover essential care for dogs who would otherwise remain on the streets.

This project is intentionally small, but its purpose is big: to give overlooked dogs the chance to become someone’s reason to hope — just as Max became mine.
