IELTS preparation is often expensive, boring, and hard to stay consistent with, especially for students and migrants already juggling work, study, and life in a new country.

Most learners end up jumping between YouTube videos, random websites, PDFs, paid courses, and scattered notes. The result is not just wasted time. It is frustration, inconsistency, and the feeling of not knowing what to study next. I experienced that myself, and that is exactly why I started building LexiUp.

What LexiUp Is

LexiUp is a mobile app for iOS and Android designed to make IELTS preparation more structured, more engaging, and more practical through short, personalised daily exercises.

The app is being built to support the full IELTS journey, including speaking, writing, listening, reading, vocabulary, structure, and exam strategy. Instead of overwhelming learners with long study sessions and disconnected materials, LexiUp is designed to help users improve step by step in a way that feels motivating and realistic.

Why I’m Building It

My name is Guilherme, and I’m building LexiUp because I believe learning works better when it is interactive, enjoyable, and part of a daily routine.

I have always loved technology and the idea of creating something that can genuinely help people. I also recently had to deal with IELTS myself, and I saw how boring and unpersonalised most preparation options felt. That experience made the gap obvious to me.

I want to build something that is not just another educational app filled with static content. I want LexiUp to be a tool that helps people make real progress toward real-life goals, whether that is studying in Australia, improving job opportunities, or meeting migration requirements.

Who LexiUp Is For

LexiUp is being designed for international students, migrants, beginner English learners, and repeat IELTS takers who need more daily structure and a more affordable way to prepare.

Many of these learners are balancing serious responsibilities. They often do not have the time or money for expensive tutors, repeated test attempts, or endless hours of study. LexiUp is meant to give them a smarter and more accessible option.

What Already Exists

This is not just an idea on paper. LexiUp is already in active development.

So far, I have built a strong foundation that includes wireframes, logical and functional exercises, authentication, payment flow, Supabase integration, OpenAI API integration, and other core development work. The app is already taking shape, and I know it can become something genuinely valuable with the right support. 

Why I Need Help Now

The biggest thing slowing me down is not commitment. It is funding.

I am building LexiUp myself, and I already have the technical foundation and the drive to keep going. I graduated with a Bachelor of Information Technology, and I am fully committed to taking this project to launch. But at this stage, the build is being limited by the cost of development resources, AI implementation, infrastructure, testing, and the overall effort required to keep progressing properly. Your support would help remove those limits and let me keep building at the level this app needs. 

My Goal

I’m raising AUD 9,000 to continue building LexiUp and move it closer to public launch.

My goal for the first release is clear: a polished app with free and premium access, AI-powered feedback for speaking and writing, interactive support for listening and reading, clean UX/UI, and a stable experience without major bugs.

I do not want to release something half-done. I want the first version of LexiUp to feel genuinely useful from day one.

How the Funds Will Be Used

AI learning features and development resources — AUD 3,500

This will help fund the technical resources needed to continue building LexiUp efficiently, including AI integration, cloud services, development platforms, and the usage costs required to move the app closer to launch.

Core app development and feature implementation — AUD 2,500

This will support the app’s essential systems, including free and premium functionality, learning flows, AI-powered feedback features, and the development work needed for a strong first release.

UX/UI refinement and user experience improvement — AUD 1,200

This will be used to improve design quality, usability, flow, and consistency so the app feels polished, modern, and intuitive for learners.

Testing, bug fixing, and launch preparation — AUD 1,000

This will support testing, quality assurance, bug fixing, performance improvements, and the final work needed before release.

App store, infrastructure, and contingency costs — AUD 800

This will help cover release-related costs, hosting and infrastructure needs, and technical issues that often come up near launch.
