EMERGENCY: FIRE DESTROYED FAMILY HOME
In 2022, our family’s world changed forever when my nephew was involved in a devastating car accident that left him permanently disabled at the age of 19. Since then, he has required 24/7 care—he is nonverbal, tube-fed, and confined to a hospital-grade bed or therapy chair. Our family has been his full-time caregivers—bathing him, feeding him, repositioning him, and doing physical therapy with him daily.
Tragedy has struck again. Last night, my mom’s home—the place where my nephew receives all of his care—caught fire and was severely damaged. And now they have nowhere to go. All of my nephew’s essential equipment, medical supplies, and his safe space are gone or severely compromised.
We are heartbroken and overwhelmed. We’re asking for help to get them into a safe, accessible place to live, replace medical equipment, and support the immense needs of his ongoing care.
We’re asking for your help to raise $40,000 to cover:
• Temporary ADA-accessible housing
• Replacement of vital medical equipment (hospital bed, feeding system, therapy gear)
• Basic essentials like clothing, bedding, and supplies
• Accessibility modifications for a new or temporary living space
• Emergency expenses, transportation, and medical needs
This situation is urgent. Our family is doing everything we can, but we can’t do it alone. Your support—through donations or even sharing this page—will help us rebuild and make sure my nephew receives the safe, dignified care he needs.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us.
